Description
The Cottage, dated 1704, is a two-storey stone building located on Park Lane in Darley Dale. The facade has been restored and features two restored three-light mullioned windows on both the upper and lower levels. The entrance includes a six-panel door set in a chamfered square-headed reveal, topped with a later slight dentilled cornice. Above the door, there is a large moulded panel with rosettes in the spandrels surrounding an ellipsis engraved with initials and the date. The building has moulded stone eaves and stone gabled ends with kneelers. The side of the cottage has an advanced gabled wing that is plain and covered with old stone tiles, while the rear is finished with slates.
