Description
Grove Farmhouse is a house with origins in the 17th century, but it mainly dates from the later 18th century. It is constructed of dressed stone and features a stone slate roof that is coped with kneelers. The building has two storeys. The part facing the road consists of two unequal bays, with the larger bay on the left showcasing flush mullion tripartite stone windows; the central lights are sashed while the side lights are fixed. The narrower entrance bay contains a sash window with glazing bars in a plain surround, situated above a pedimented doorcase that features a six-panelled door and a small overlight. To the right, there is a set-back wing that has two 2-light double chamfered stone mullion windows on the ground floor, each with hoodmoulds, and taller flush mullion 2-light windows above them. The house is topped with three stacks, with the one on the right-hand gable being moulded.
