Description

The Old Village Lock-Up, located at the rear of No. 21 Swift's Hollow, is a lock-up building with keeper's accommodation above, now used as a garage and store. It was constructed in 1790 and is made of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, topped by a slate roof that features two brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a five-bay front.

The right-hand side has a doorway with a plank door, accessed by two steps and topped with a large square lintel. To the left of this door is a two-light flush mullion window, followed by another similar door, and then another two-light flush mullion window. Further left, there is an inserted pair of garage doors. Above the right doorway, there is a two-light window that has lost its flush mullion, and to the left, there are two half-glazed loft doors.

The north-west gable front features an upper three-light flush mullion window with its original wooden glazing bars. Inside, the ground floor contains two lock-up cells with iron doors.
