Description
Riverside House is a building dating from around 1906, constructed of red brick with stone dressings. The stone features include a plinth, quoins, and bands at the ground and first floor sills, as well as an eaves band and a modillion cornice. The roof is slate with stone coped gable ends. The building is two storeys high and has seven windows. At the center, there is a pediment featuring a stone wreathed rosette in the tympanum. The windows are sashes with late 19th-century glazing; the first-floor windows have labels, stone architraves, and panelled friezes, while the ground floor windows have labels on consoles. The central first-floor window has a segmental pediment and is flanked by two round windows. The entrance features panelled doors, a round arched fanlight, and a stone doorcase with pilasters, a modillion cornice on consoles, and a frieze.
