Description
The Laurels is a building dating from around 1810. It is constructed of red brick and stands two storeys high, featuring three tall sash windows with painted reveals and flat brick arches. The building has a stone plinth and a moulded wood pilaster doorcase that includes a radial fanlight, a glazed door, and a Tuscan column portico. The eaves have been restored with moulded wood, and the roof is covered with green slates. On the south side, there is a later two-storeyed canted bay with a hipped slate roof. The gabled ends have small semi-circular windows and there are modern additions at the rear. The interior has been much altered but still retains some original doors and door casings, as well as a plain staircase.
