Description
Numbers 69 to 79 Saltergate, including Pagets Insurances Limited, is a late 18th century monumental terrace block featuring a symmetrical facade. The building is constructed of red brick and has stone sill bands and a moulded stone eaves cornice. It stands three storeys tall and has twelve windows, with the central four being advanced under a pediment that includes an oval plaque in the tympanum. The windows are sash style, with glazing bars on the ground floor. The ground floor also features round arched doors flanked by recessed fluted Roman Doric columns, an entablature, and ornamental fanlights. There is a small later shop front inserted near the centre of the ground floor, and the property is enclosed by iron area railings.
