Description
The United Reformed Church, formerly listed as the Congregational Church, dates back to 1822 and features an inscription on a round stone plaque above the door. The building is constructed of coursed sandstone and has a band and parapet that are raised in the center, supported by piers, panels, and capping. It is two storeys high and has three windows. The central stone doorcase is adorned with Tuscan columns and an entablature, leading to an eight-panelled door with an archivolt and impost bands, topped by a plain semi-circular fanlight. The casement windows have mullions and engraved lintels. On the side facade facing Soresby Street, there are six windows, with the third and sixth being round-arched under gables and featuring keystones. The sixth bay is slightly advanced and includes a door on the ground floor, which has a moulded architrave decorated with floral medallions and a cornice.
