Description

No. 81 Saltergate is an early 19th-century building featuring an ashlar facade, an eaves cornice, and a hipped slate roof. The structure is 2½ storeys tall and has a band at the first-floor sill. It includes three windows, which are generally late 19th-century sashes with engraved lintels. The central doorway is round arched, adorned with an engraved archivolt, keystone, and impost bands, and has a fanlight with astragal glazing bars. There are three dormers on the roof and one window in the eastern extension above a segmental carriageway arch at the rear. Additionally, there is a red brick rear wing that is three storeys high, featuring four windows that are generally sashes with glazing bars.
