Description

Numbers 18 and 19, including Spring Hill House, are a terrace of three houses built around 1770. They are constructed of brick with limestone dressings, featuring a roughcast side elevation, brick party wall stacks, and a pantile roof. The houses are designed in a mid-Georgian style and consist of three storeys, a basement, and an attic, each with a one-window range. The façade includes pilasters leading to a cornice, a parapet, and coped end gables.

Numbers 18 and 19 have left-hand doorways adorned with consoles supporting pediments, plate-glass fanlights, and six-panel doors. Spring Hill House features a doorway on Spring Hill with a semicircular arch framed by a Gibbs surround, a fluted transom, a four-light batswing fanlight, and a six-panel door. Each house has a central ground-floor canted bay with timber pilasters, a cornice, and plate-glass sash windows. The first floor features a Venetian window with interlacing bars in the centre, six-over-six pane sashes, and flanking two-over-two pane sashes. The second floor has tripartite windows with five stepped voussoirs, six-over-six pane sashes, and flanking two-over-two pane sashes, all set in flush frames. Spring Hill House also includes a ground-floor oriel on the right side.

The rear elevations have full-height canted bays with flush frames and cornices. The property is complemented by wrought-iron front area railings with urn finials and a rear wall associated with Spring Hill House. The interior has not been inspected.
