Description

No. 40 is a house and shop located on the east side of Market Place in Old Bolsover. The building dates from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries and is constructed from rubblestone, rendered brick, and sandstone dressings. It features a pantile roof with a brick ridge stack and stone coped gables that have plain kneelers. The building has two storeys and a three-bay west elevation. There is a broad 20th-century shopfront, and to the left, there is a cart entrance that goes through the building. Above the shopfront, there are three glazing bar sash windows. This building is included in the listing for its group value.
