Description

39 High Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with sandstone dressings and features a pantile roof. The roof has stone gable stacks and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. The building has two storeys and the north elevation consists of three bays that are not quite symmetrical. The off-centre doorway has massive jambs and a lintel, and it features a 20th-century panelled door. This doorway is flanked by 20th-century cross windows set in painted ashlar surrounds, with three similar windows located above.
