Description

The former Presbyterian Chapel, believed to date from 1662, is located on the north side of High Street in Old Bolsover. It is constructed of red brick in monk bond with ashlar quoins and is a tall single-storey building featuring a broad twin-gabled design with a plain tile roof. The west elevation includes two large rectangular windows with slightly arched lintels, while the south elevation has two rectangular windows positioned high up, with the lintels forming part of a continuous stone band. Inside, there are three wall memorials dated 1723, 1837, and 1877. The building functioned as a Presbyterian meeting house until 1893 when a new chapel was built next to it, which was demolished in 1986, after which the old chapel was repurposed as a Sunday school.
