Description

This building is a row of four shops located at 42, 42A, 44, and 46 Market Place, dating from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone with sandstone dressings and stands two storeys high. The west elevation features five irregular bays. There are three 19th-century shopfronts, and to the left, there is a doorway with a stone lintel and jambs, along with a glazing bar sash window beneath a stone lintel. Above, there are four glazing bar sash windows of unequal size and a three-light sliding sash window.
