Description

This is a milepost located to the north of Carnfield Hall, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a triangular sectioned base with a sloping head. The edge has a bead fillet, and the lettering is raised. The west side of the milepost is inscribed with "MANSFIELD 8 MILES," the east side reads "ALFRETON 1 MILE," and the top is inscribed with "SOUTH NORMANTON."
