Description

This is an early 19th-century farmhouse located in the parish of Shirland and Higham. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone with painted dressings and sandstone quoins. A shallow plinth runs around the base, and stringcourse bands are visible around the ground and first-floor windows. A plain eaves band tops the building, and the roof is slate-covered with stone coped gables and plain kneelers. Stone gable end stacks are present, with the eastern stack rendered.

The farmhouse has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high, with two bays. The central doorway has a flush doorcase with a chamfered edge, and a 20th-century boarded door. Full-height glazing bar sash windows are positioned to either side of the door, set within plain surrounds. An impost band steps up over the doorcase. Above the door, two shallower glazing bar sashes are also set in plain surrounds. A painted stone plaque inscribed "Shirland Park Farm" is positioned between the upper windows. The rear wing features a semi-circular headed door and further glazing bar sashes.
