Description
This is a row of three cottages located at 15-19 Cotton Street, dating from the 17th century and restored in 1968. The cottages are constructed from coursed squared limestone with sandstone dressings and quoins, topped with pantile roofs featuring ashlar ridge and gable stacks, and stone coped gables. They are two storeys high and have an L-plan layout.
The east elevation consists of three bays. The left gabled bay has a glazing bar sash window beneath a plain stone lintel on both floors. To the right, there is a doorway with a panelled door, and the gable features a blind circular window. The right section of the row is symmetrical, with paired entrances in the centre that have massive jambs and a lintel, along with a continuous hoodmould and panelled doors. These entrances are flanked by glazing bar sash windows under stone lintels, with two additional glazing bar sashes above. Above the doors, there is an inscribed stone and a blind decorative circle, with the stone reading "M I M 1762."
