Description
The war memorial, located to the east of St Mary's Church in Denby, was erected around 1920. It is made of stone and features a tall Celtic cross on a stepped base. The east side of the cross is adorned with Celtic-style carved decoration. At the base, there is an inscription that reads, "In memory of the men of Denby who fell in the Great War, Aug 4 1914 - June 28 1919," accompanied by a list of names. Additionally, there is a plaque affixed to the base that lists the victims of the Second World War.
