Description

No. 20 Orchard Close is a cottage, likely dating from the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed of ironstone rubble and features a thatched roof. The building has one and a half storeys and a three-unit plan. The left-hand bay of the front elevation includes one casement window and a door, which is slightly recessed and shorter in height, indicating it was the former service end. In the projecting right-hand bays, there are two casement windows with flat timber lintels, along with a blocked fire window located below the axial stack. Above, there is a single dormer and a two-light casement window in the gable.
