Description

No. 2 Main Street is a mid-18th century house located on the south side of Main Street in Egleton. It is constructed from coursed rubble and features a stone tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a three-unit plan, with two windows to the left of the door and one to the right. The entrance consists of a four-panelled door framed by plain wood architraves. The windows are three and two-light casements, each with moulded and chamfered wood lintels. The house has coped gables, with one axial and one gable stack, and is accented by angle quoins. To the right of the house is an adjoining barn, also made of rubble with angle quoins and a stone tiled roof, which includes two upper casement windows.
