Description

No. 3 Main Street is a large cottage, originally two dwellings, dating to the late 17th and early 18th centuries. It is constructed of coursed rubble with angle quoins, and has a thatched roof. The cottage is 1½ storeys high, with two dormers. The ground floor features three casement windows, and a smaller, pointed window in the centre of the front elevation. There are two doors, now set within modern porches, and one is blocked. Axial and gable end stacks are present. The interior retains original features, including beams with squared chamfer stops and run-out stops. There is an inglenook fireplace with a bressumer supported on massive stones, and a fire window looking towards the rear of the property.
