Description
This is an early 19th-century barn located in the grounds of the Rectory in Whitwell, along Main Road. The barn is constructed of rubble with brick dressings and is single storey. It features a symmetrical design with a central gabled bay that has a pediment and large doors. On either side of this central bay, there is a three-bay range that includes a central door and flanking windows. All openings are adorned with brick Gothic arches that have stone keystones. The roof is covered with pantiles. The gable faces the street, and in the adjoining wall, there is a round-arched recess that contains a lead water tap. Above this recess, a stone is inscribed with "Parish Conduit, 1858."
