Description
Old Hall Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, now used as offices for the water board. It dates from the mid-17th century and later. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with quoins and features a stone-tiled roof. It is two storeys high and has an L-shaped plan.
The west front has a slightly projecting gable on the right, which includes coping and a stone stack. There are two paired casement windows on each storey, which have been renewed in earlier openings. To the left of this gable, there are two bays featuring a renewed four-centred arched doorway and casement windows, all with quoins and stressed keystones.
On the south front, there are two bays to the left with renewed casement windows, one of which is in a projecting section of walling with angle quoins. Beyond this, there is a 17th-century bay that has hoodmoulds over stone-mullioned windows and gabled dormers. The gable end has a stack, and there are additional mullioned windows in the gable wall.
