Lodge With Railings Gate Piers And Gates

The lodge house with railings, gate piers, and gates was built around 1850 and is designed in a picturesque Jacobethan style. It is constructed entirely of ashlar and features iron gates. The lodge is a single-celled building with a sloped gable adorned with finials. In the gable wall, there is a mullioned and transomed window, along with a 2-light mullioned window positioned above it. The side elevation includes a doorway set in a 4-centred arch with a cornet above, two mullioned and transomed windows, and a slightly projecting gabled dormer that has coping, finials, and a mullioned window. The park wall ends with ornate moulded stone piers, and on either side, sections of iron railing connect to the principal gate piers, which feature plain moulded heads and small side shafts that end in consoles. The piers are decorated with scrolls, a shield of arms, coronets, and capping finials, while the gates and railings are wrought with trefoils and spearheads.
