Description
Sundial Cottage is a cottage that possibly has a 17th-century core and was altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a stone tiled roof. The building is 1½ storeys high and has a long range, which may have originally been two dwellings or a house and barn.
On the left side, there is a doorway, followed by a wide casement window with a chamfered lintel, and a canted bay window with ovolo moulded stone mullions. Further along, there is another door set in a 19th to 20th-century four-centred arch. Above, there are two dormers, and behind the right-hand door, there is a chimney stack that is half moulded stone and half brick.
Beyond this door, the building extends into a single-storey section that is buttressed but maintains the same roof line. This section includes two casement windows, one of which has a chamfered lintel while the other is located in a former doorway. At the far end of this elevation, there is another doorway along with a partially blocked opening that contains small windows.
