Description
No. 25 Warser Gate is a yarn warehouse and offices, now used as offices, built in 1890 by WR & F Booker of Nottingham for G Wigley. It features additions from 1911 by H Allcock. The building is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof with a coped rear wall stack. Key architectural elements include a plinth, a ground floor cornice, and an eaves cornice. The windows are mainly original plain sashes. The structure is two storeys plus a basement and has a three-window range.
On the ground floor, to the left, there is a cart entrance with panelled doors beneath a 20th-century glazed screen. To the right, a round-arched doorway features a keystone and spandrels, with a panelled double door and fanlight. Further right, there are two large tripartite sashes with shaped mullions, and below them, mullioned three-light basement openings. Above, to the left, is a canted wooden oriel window with glazing bar casements, supported by an ashlar bracket and topped with a domed lead roof. To the right, two large tripartite sashes are set in recessed panels with dentillated brick heads, divided by pilasters.
