Description
No. 15 Carlton Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from around 1830 and altered in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of painted brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with deep eaves. It stands three storeys high and has two windows across its front. The ground floor has a mid-20th century stone-clad shop front with a side door. Above this, there are two glazing bar sash windows, and on the top floor, two smaller glazing bar sash windows, all of which have fluted keystone lintels. Between the first-floor windows, there is a mid-20th century hanging sign, and above this, a gilt and wrought-iron pawnbroker's sign. The building is included for its group value.
