Description
Derby Terrace, located on Derby Road in Nottingham, is a terrace of six houses, now used as offices, along with attached railings. Built around 1830, it was likely designed by PF Robinson for the 4th Duke of Newcastle. The terrace has undergone alterations and restorations in the mid and late 20th century. It features stucco walls, slate roofs, and six rendered ridge stacks, with basements made of concrete and blue brick. The ground floor is rusticated, with a first-floor sill band and a coped parapet. Most windows retain their original glazing bar sashes. The building rises three storeys plus a basement and attics, with a total of twelve window openings. The ground floor includes mainly original fielded panelled doors with overlights and 12-pane sash windows. The first floor has tall sashes with cornices, and four of these to the right have cast-iron balcony brackets. Above, there are 9-pane sashes, while the attics feature late 20th-century box dormers. The projecting basements were rebuilt in the late 20th century, primarily for parking spaces. At ground floor level, there are mainly original cast-iron railings between the houses and across the front.
