Description
This house, now offices, was built around 1830, likely by PF Robinson for the 4th Duke of Newcastle. It is a stucco-fronted building with slate roofs and two side wall stacks. The ground floor is rusticated, with a moulded eaves cornice and blocking course. Most of the windows are original sash windows with glazing bars. The building is three storeys high plus a basement and attics, and has a three-by-one window arrangement. It forms the end bay of a terrace and includes a corner feature at the north entrance to the Park Estate.
The street front has a three-window block to the left, with corniced first-floor windows featuring renewed balconies. The basement has two segment-arched windows and a door. The attic has three casement windows. The projecting corner block to the right has a single bay with corniced first-floor windows and a pedimented gable to the right return. The building was altered and restored in the mid and late 19th century and again in the 20th century. It is an important feature at the entrance to the Park Estate.
