Description
No. 10 Low Pavement is an office building that has been converted into a restaurant. It was built in 1876 by Alfred Smith of Nottingham and features a Gothic Revival style. The building is constructed of stucco and ashlar, with ashlar dressings, and has a roof that is not visible behind a coped parapet with finials.
It stands four storeys tall and has two window ranges. The ground floor showcases a three-bay arcade adorned with fleurons and ringed granite shafts with foliage corbels. To the left, there is a recessed porch that contains a pointed arched window and door, both with shouldered heads and a central shaft. To the right, there are two reglazed windows.
Above the ground floor, a canted ashlar oriel window features a central gable with a roundel and four pointed arched plain sashes supported by granite shafts and intricate ornamentation. The bracket beneath this window is decorated with coloured tiles. Further up, there are two plain sashes with pointed arched heads and an enriched impost band, followed by another two segment-arched plain sashes with a moulded impost band.
