Description
Enfield Chambers is a building located on Low Pavement in Nottingham, dated 1910 and altered in the late 20th century. It features a combination of ashlar and red brick with ashlar dressings and a stone slate mansard roof, designed in a Free Baroque style. The ground floor is rusticated and includes a cornice, while the main cornice is adorned with modillions. The building stands three storeys tall with attics and has a three-window range.
The central window on the upper floors is a 12-pane sash with a moulded surround, flanked by large shallow oriel windows that each contain a round-arched glazing bar casement in a rusticated surround with a hood, accompanied by sidelights. Above these are five imitation 12-pane sashes, and the attics feature five 9-pane sashes.
On the ground floor, there is a wide central opening with Ionic columns leading to a recessed segment-headed doorway that provides access to a passage. Each side of this opening has a single plate glass shop window.
