Description

This warehouse, now used as offices, was built in 1875. It is constructed of red brick with an ashlar basement and ashlar dressings. The building features an Italianate style. The basement is rusticated, with quoins, a sill band, an eaves cornice, and a pierced, coped parapet. Most of the windows are original plain sashes with ashlar surrounds. The building has three storeys plus a basement and five window bays. The central entrance has a segment-arched double door with a fanlight, flanked by paired segment-arched windows. Further along, there are segment-arched panelled doors with fanlights. Above the doors, a two-storey stone oriel window is supported by stone brackets. Above the oriel is a tripartite sash window beneath a small pediment. On each side of the central bay, there are two windows on each floor. The building originally served as the offices and warehouse of William Cotton.
