Description
No 7 Upper King Street is an early 19th-century building that resembles Nos 1, 3, and 5 in its construction. It features a large later mansard roof with gabled ends and three segmental pedimented dormers. The front is finished in stucco, with a parapet and a cornice that extends from the adjacent buildings. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with four windows. Pilasters are located at both ends and in the centre, adorned with anthemion ornament, and the moulded cornice projects over these pilasters. A moulded string course runs along the first floor. All windows are sash types with glazing bars, set within moulded shouldered architraves. The doorway also has a moulded shouldered architrave and a cornice supported by console brackets, featuring a modern glazed door and a rectangular fanlight. At the rear, the building is constructed of red brick, with irregular fenestration of sash windows and a tall round-headed stair window. No 7 is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 29 (odd) and No 8 Tower Street.
