Description
This is an early 19th century range of modest cottages, located at The Hollow, Mickleover. The cottages are built of whitewashed brick and extend to two storeys. Each cottage has a plain wooden casement window with small panes, and horizontal sliding sash windows, some of which have later shutters, with curved heads. There are five plain doorways. The eaves are ornamented with modillion details, and the roof is covered with tiles and slates. Two smaller blocks within the range are linked by a brick wall containing a doorway. The cottages are raised above the road level, with a rubble retaining wall located in front of the path (this wall is not included as part of the listed structure). Cottages 4 to 8 form a group.
