Description

The Limes is an early 19th-century villa set in its own grounds. The building is constructed of stucco and has two storeys. The main front, which faces the garden, features plain pilasters at each end and a band between the storeys. It has a configuration of 2+3+2 sash windows, with the central three arranged in a full-height semi-circular bow. The ground storey windows have jalousies, and the roof has plain over-hanging eaves and is hipped with slate.

The entrance front includes 2+1+0 windows and a central solid stucco porch supported by angle piers and Doric columns in antis, topped with an entablature, and features a glazed divided door. To the right of the entrance porch, there is a one-storey projecting section with three windows. The other elevations of the villa are plain.

Inside, the villa has a characteristic staircase and ceiling cornices. The setting is enhanced by lawns and a drive lined with an avenue of trees.
