Description

Mickleover Manor is a manor house dating to 1849, designed by Duesbury in a restrained Tudor style. The building is constructed of red brick with stone dressings, and is two and three storeys high with attics in three gabled bays. A square, projecting entrance bay forms a four-stage tower block, featuring a stone cornice and a castellated parapet. The windows are generally three-light, set within stone surrounds with mullions and transoms, and are topped with hood moulds. Two projecting stone bays are located on the left side of the facade. A pointed doorway is etched with detail, and the building incorporates stone head and sill bands. Stone-coped gables are finished with obelisk finials, and the roof is tiled. Modern additions on the right-hand side are not included in the listing. The manor house stands back from the road, set within its own grounds.
