Description

SE31NW CHEVET LODGE LANE (south side)

Chevet Gates Lodge 2/2 GV II Lodge to Chevet Hall (demolished). Early C19. Ashlar, Welsh blue-slate roof. Single storey. 3 x 3 bays. Symmetrical. Outer bays have 12-pane sash windows with recessed panels above, flanked by engaged Tuscan Columns. Centre bay and corners have engaged Tuscan columns in anta. Frieze, cornice, blocking course surmounted by the Pilkington coat-of arms with carved brackets to either side. Hipped roof with ashlar stack to rear pitch. Left-hand return has simple sash to left and doorway to right, both with recessed panels above, separated by 4 Tuscan pilasters. 2 Tuscan pilasters to corners. Right-hand return has similar fenestration but with mid-C20 extension, out of sympathy, attached to 3rd bay.
