Description
The garden house, located approximately 50 metres east of the Court in Low Ackworth, is an early 19th-century structure that has been altered over time. It is built from sandstone ashlar and features a rectangular single-cell plan with pilastered corners. The west side has a tall square-headed doorway with a large overlight, while the south side includes a tall tapered window. The east side shows some signs of alterations. A prominent cornice with a concave soffit adds to its architectural detail. The building is now roofless. Inside, there are remains of tiers of continuous tile troughs, indicating that it was formerly used as a fernery.
