Description

Cleveland Lodge is a late 18th-century house, originally built as a single dwelling and later divided into three. Constructed of coursed squared sandstone with raised rusticated quoins, it has a stone slate roof. The house is arranged in an L-shape, consisting of a main double-depth range with a wing projecting from the rear of the left end. It is three storeys high and five bays wide, exhibiting a simple Classical style with a symmetrical facade. The central three bays are crowned by a pediment. Doorways with overlights are located in the second and fourth bays, while a large tripartite sash window is centrally placed. The first floor features 12-pane sashes, and the second floor has smaller 6-pane sashes, all with plain stone surrounds. The roof is hipped, and a chimney is located at the right-hand end. The rear wing is built in a similar style, although it has been altered. The interior has not been inspected.
