Description

This milestone, located approximately 50 meters southwest of No. 74 on Whitehall Road in Morley, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It features an arched stone structure that is overlaid with cast iron and has a triangular cross-section. The letters on the milestone are in relief. The top of the milestone reads "LEEDS & WHITEHALL ROAD DRIGHLINGTON," while the left face indicates "HALIFAX" and the right face shows "LEEDS 10 MILES 5¼ MILES." It also bears the makers' mark of Brayshaw and Booth from Liversedge.
