Description

This is a Dutch barn, now used as a hen coop, located immediately north-west of Lumb Hall Barn. It dates from the late 19th century and features a timber frame with a felted board roof. The barn has a rectangular shape with tall corner posts, which are square-cut at the base and become round six feet from the ground. Although the wires and gearing for raising the roof are missing, holes and iron pins that supported the hipped roof remain. Originally, the sides were open but are now boarded and felted. This structure is a rare survival and is noted for its group value.
