Description
Owlet Grange is a late 17th-century farmhouse that was enlarged and remodelled in the later 18th century. It is now divided into two dwellings. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with quoins, and has a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular, double-depth plan.
The south front is symmetrical with five bays, and has a central doorway with a plain surround. There are four windows at ground floor level and five above, all sash windows without glazing bars. Moulded gutter brackets and corniced gable chimneys are present, along with gable copings including kneelers. A modern lean-to addition at the right-hand end is not included as part of the listed building.
At the rear, there are two doorways in the centre, one of which is blocked. There are two chamfered mullion windows on each floor, each with three lights, mostly recessed.
The interior has been altered, but the rear rooms retain large, 17th-century chamfered beams. A rear left room features a large rectangular stone fireplace.
