Description

Ling Bob Farmhouse, now a house, dates from the 17th century and was altered or remodelled in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with large quoins, and has a stone slate roof. The original plan comprised two units, with a later two-storey outshut added to the rear. The south front is almost symmetrical, with two storeys and two bays. It features a central doorway with a plain surround, and coupled square windows featuring central flat-faced mullions and plain surrounds. The ground floor window to the right is a single square light. The gables have copings with kneelers, and a chimney is located on the left gable. The left gable has one recessed two-light mullioned window on each floor, the upper window lacking a mullion. The right-hand gable has a recently added single-storey bay window at ground floor, and recessed mullioned windows above. The rear of the building and the interior are of less architectural interest now.
