Description
The Fox and Hounds Public House is a mid-19th century building that has been adapted from a house into a public house, with some additions made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and features a slate roof with wide eaves. The building stands two storeys high and consists of three bays, with the left bay being gabled and slightly projecting.
At the center, there is a gabled stone porch that has a chamfered four-centred arch. The windows are made of stone mullions, with the ground floor featuring a four-light window and the first floor having one and two-light windows. The building also includes metal-frame casements with octagonal panes and four-pane casements. At each end of the building, there are paired diagonally-set corniced stacks that slightly project on the gable. The interior has been fitted in the 20th century.
