Description
Owlet Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into two dwellings. It likely dates from the late 18th century and is built from coursed squared sandstone with quoins and a stone slate roof. The building features a single-depth, three-unit linear plan, standing two storeys high with three bays. There is a doorway near the junction of the first and second bays, and another at the right-hand end, which is now covered by an added porch with a pitched roof. Both doorways have plain surrounds. On each floor, there are three 3-light windows, all featuring flat-faced flush mullions and plain surrounds, with 4-pane sashes in the centre lights that are wider. To the right of the left-hand door, there is a circular window. The gable ends have copings with kneelers, and there is a chimney on the left gable as well as a ridge chimney at the junction of the second and third units. An attached projecting farm building is located at the right-hand end but is not included in this listing. Inside, the farmhouse has exposed pitch-pine beams and joists, with a cellar dairy located at the rear.
