Description

Moseley Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with a low-pitched stone slate roof, featuring stone copings and kneelers. The house occupies the site of, or incorporates parts of, a 17th-century building. It is two storeys high with a three-window front. Quoins are present. The garden front, which faces southwest, has a central door with tie-stone jambs, flanked by large square windows with plain surrounds and 20th-century wooden frames. Gutter brackets are also present, along with end stacks. The rear, or uphill side, features an entrance to the right of centre, along with recessed chamfered window surrounds to the left and two to the first floor. A tall central stair window is visible, with a blocked opening beneath it. The interior has not been inspected. It is believed the farmhouse was built as a house for the owner of a nearby bleach works, the remains of which are located on the hillside to the south and east of the property.
