Description

Number 4 is an office building located on Albion Place, constructed in the late 19th century with a later addition from the 20th century. The building is made of red brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof on the added fourth storey, which sits above a deep cornice with modillions and a balustered parapet. It has four storeys and a basement, with a width of four windows. The design is in the Italianate style.

The entrance is on the left side and is framed by Tuscan columns that support a heavy entablature, which has a balustered balcony above the first-floor window. The ground-floor windows are set within eared architraves that feature keyblocks. On the first floor, there are large windows with moulded architraves topped by heavy segmental pediments on console brackets, and a continuous moulded sill that creates a cornice over the ground floor. The second floor has smaller windows in moulded architraves with sills resting on small brackets. The attached cast-iron railings have spearhead finials. The interior has not been inspected.
