Description
No. 1A Albion Place is a former house now used as offices, dating from 1795, with likely alterations made in the late 19th century and restoration completed in 1990. It was originally built for William Hey. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and features two first-floor windows. The entrance on the left has a stone surround with a cornice supported by console brackets, leading to a glazed door with an overlight. To the right, there is a canted bay window that covers two earlier openings with flat brick arches. The first floor has two plate-glass sash windows with stone sills, rectangular recessed panels below, a modillion cornice, and a blocking course. The interior has not been inspected. The main part of the house still exists as No. 1 Albion Place, and this building is included for its group value.
