Description
10 and 12 Kirkgate is a mid-19th century building featuring three storeys constructed from stone. The façade has a symmetrical arrangement of windows with two on either side and one in the center, all set beneath a continuous band that extends across the cills. The central section of the building projects slightly forward and is topped with a pediment. Some of the windows are hung sashes with glazing bars, and the first-floor central window is adorned with a pediment and plain pilasters. The building has modern shop fronts and a central passage. It is included as part of a group with Nos 2 to 8 (even) and Nos 20 and 22, and it also forms a group with the Former Tobacco Warehouse located at the rear of Nos 8 and 20.
