Description

Nos 6 and 6A on Kirkgate are 3-storey buildings made of stone, topped with a stone slate roof and featuring stacks at the gable ends. They are dated 1744 and have four windows with stone surrounds. A band runs along the top floor cills and another band is located between the first and second storeys. The windows do not have glazing bars, and the shop fascia interrupts the first-floor windows, which have chamfered reveals. These buildings were formerly known as the Queen's Head Public House. They are part of a group that includes Nos 2 and 8 (even) and Nos 20 and 22.
