Description

The Independent School, dated 1850, is a single-storey building constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features a mid-20th century concrete tile roof. The facade is symmetrical with seven bays. At the center, there is a pedimented gabled porch that includes a doorway with monolithic jambs, imposts, a fanlight, and a cornice topped with a date plaque. On either side of the porch, there are three bays featuring archivolted-arched windows with imposts and keystones. The building also has a moulded stone gutter and coped gables with end stacks. The rear of the school has similar windows.
